Wilbur Tipton

Mr. Wilbur Dean Tipton, age 90, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Saturday evening, April 14, 2018 in Nashville, Tennessee. Mr. Tipton was born in Blount County, Tennessee and was a son of the late Carl McCampbell and Vola McCrosky Tipton. He was a Veteran and served two tours in the United States Navy. Mr. Tipton was a retired Iron Worker, working on many TVA and General Motors Corp. projects. He was a member of Iron Workers Local #492 and was a member of Lewisburg First United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Tipton was also preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Hargrove Tipton, who died in 1987; brothers, Kenneth Tipton and Burnes Tipton.

Mr. Tipton is survived by his wife of 29 years, Martha Ann Tipton, Chapel Hill, TN; daughter, Diane (Ronnie) Curtis, Chapel Hill, TN; step-sons, Patrick (Carole) Davis, San Jose, CA, Daniel Timothy (Susan) Davis, Franklin, TN; brother, Bob Tipton, Maryville, TN; grandchildren, Deana Martin, Shannon (Lori) Curtis; step-grandchildren, Christopher (Morgane) Davis, Shannon (Kavel) Bhathela, J. P. Davis, Andrew (Leanna) Davis, Olivia (Clint) Wright, Kristin (Kenny) Madrid; six great grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.

Family members will receive friends on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Irvin officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
