William Jackson "Jack" Hale, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026, in Hermitage, Tennessee, at the age of 80. Born on May 4, 1946, in Childress, Texas, Jack’s long and meaningful life was marked by steadfast dedication to his family and a deep commitment to those he loved.

Jack was the devoted husband of Vonda Spain, who survives him. Together, they built a warm and loving home, and Jack's unwavering support and steadfast partnership enriched every chapter of their lives. Jack was also a proud father to his sons Nathan Hale and Cody Hale, whose lives have been profoundly shaped by his wisdom, encouragement, and generosity of spirit. He welcomed Daniel (Samantha) Spain as a stepson and daughter in law, embracing him fully as part of the family.

His role as a grandfather brought him particular joy. Jack is lovingly remembered by his granddaughter Clara Hale and grandson Roman Hale, as well as his step-grandchildren Hayden, Christian, Adam, Audrey, Noah, and Hannah Spain. Each one of them carries forward cherished memories and the enduring lessons that Jack imparted through his example, humor, and kindness.

Jack was a valued sibling, survived by his sister Priscilla Hale Hein and brother and sister-in-law Doug (Debra) Hale. The bonds of family were always central in his life, rooted in the values instilled by his late parents, John Perry Hale and Maurine Odessa (Spain) Hale, whose legacy Jack honored through his own life and actions.

Those who knew Jack will remember his integrity, warmth, and the quiet strength he displayed in every circumstance. He was a man who never hesitated to offer help or encouragement, no matter the situation. His humility, coupled with an unfailing sense of duty and devotion to all those he cared for, leaves a lasting imprint on all who had the privilege to know him.

A graveside service honoring William Jackson "Jack" Hale will be held on July 18, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Swanson Cemetery with Bro. Jamie Pratt officiating, located on Morningside Drive in Chapel Hill, Tennessee. Family and friends are invited to gather as Jack is laid to rest, and as his life and enduring legacy are remembered with gratitude and love.
