William Hopkins

Mr. William “Billy” Hopkins, age 91, of Lewisburg, TN, died Monday, October 31, 2022 following an extended illness. Born in Marshall Co., Billy was a son of the late Henry Clifton Hopkins and Willie Blanche Nix Hopkins. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Jane Chapman Hopkins, who died in 2015. Also preceded in death by a brother, Walter Henry Hopkins, and 2 sisters, Alice June Hopkins and Lena Bell Price. Billy was a farmer and also retired from Inter-City Products with 26 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War, and was a member of the Church Street Church of Christ.

Survived by a daughter, Melody (Dan) Sullivan of Brentwood, TN; a sister, Patricia (Nathan) Todd of Chapel Hill, TN; a brother, Tex (Mary) Hopkins of Lewisburg, TN; 3 grandchildren, Carrie (George) Lund, Jenna (Seth) Griffith and Sarah (Daniel) Smith; 5 great-grandchildren, Holland Lund, Hailey Lund, Hannah Lund, William Camden Stafford and Zachary Stafford.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Lawrence Funeral Home from 4pm- 8pm. A graveside service will be conducted at 11am Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Mars Hill Cemetery in Cornersville, TN.
