Wilma Sanders

Mrs. Wilma Sanders, age 88, of the Harpeth Community in Williamson County, TN, died Wednesday, January 4, 2023 in Franklin, TN.  She was a native of Marshall County, TN and was a daughter of the late Emmett C. Woodard and Clara Casteel Woodard.  Mrs. Wilma was a homemaker and a member of Parkway Church of Christ in Franklin, TN.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, George Washington “G.W.” Sanders, Jr., a child, Douglas Wayne Sanders, and a brother, Alton Woodard.

Mrs. Wilma loved her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed raising flowers, traveling on trips, and spending time with her church family.

Mrs. Sanders is survived by her children, Vivian (Andy) Stephens of Nashville, TN, Valerie (Jackie) Hazelwood of the Ash Hill Community, Kevin (Paula) Sanders of Thompsons Station, TN, Amy Perry of Spring Hill, TN; 6 grandchildren, Matthew Dillingham, Ashley Kimball, Brittany Collier, Will Hazelwood, Shelby Corbin, Skylar Sanders; 7 great grandchildren, Cole & Luke Kimball, Madison, Olivia, & Caleb Collier, Griffin Dillingham, and Jack Hazelwood; sisters, Alice Garrett of Huntsville, AL, Louise Massey of Petersburg, TN, and Shirley (Tommy) Bledsoe of Lewisburg, TN.

Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, January 8, 2023 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home.  Funeral services  will be conducted at 11 AM on Monday, January 9, 2023 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Cotton officiating.  Interment will follow at Talley Cemetery in Petersburg, TN.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
