Dennis Ray Smotherman

Mr. Dennis Ray Smotherman, age 61, of Rockvale, TN, died Monday, June 27, 2022 in Murfreesboro, TN.  He was a native of Rutherford County, TN and a son of the late Robert Franklin Smotherman and Maggie Irene Ragsdale Smotherman.  Dennis was retired from Tyson Foods and had attended Old Lebanon Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Smotherman, and sisters, Mary Louise Lamb and Barbara Jo Smotherman.

Dennis loved listening to swap shop radio.  He had a great passion for animals, especially raising goats and chickens.  His favorite meals were eating at Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Mr. Smotherman is survived by his sisters, Joyce (Claude) Throneberry of Unionville, TN, Bell Lamb of Bell Buckle, TN, Sue Irvin of LaVergne, TN, Alta Smotherman of Rockvale, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 9 Am until 11 AM at Lawrence Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Hannah officiating.  Interment will follow in Whitworth Cemetery in the Link Community of Rutherford County.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
