Eagleville, Tennessee

Jeannie and Don Hendrix, husband and wife of 60 years, and longtime residents of Eagleville, TN, died Saturday, December 26, and Sunday, December 27, 2020 respectively, in Smyrna, Tennessee.

Jeannie was born in Davidson County and was a daughter of the late Leon and Tommie Gertrude Holton Batts. She retired after more than 20 years as the bookkeeper for Rutherford Farmers Co-Op of Eagleville. In addition to her parents, Jeannie was also preceded in death by her twin sister, Jannie Batts West; brothers, Dan Batts, Raymond Batts and John Batts.

Don was born in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Horace David Hendrix and Carrie Elizabeth Clark Cook. He served his Country in the United States Army. For many years, Don was a self-employed heavy equipment operator. Later, he retired as a heavy equipment operator for the Nashville International Airport Authority.

Both were very active members of Eagleville United Methodist Church where they loved singing in the church choir.

Jeannie and Don are survived by their children, Pam (Bill) Vaughn, Eagleville, TN, Chris (Sabrina) Hendrix, Eagleville, TN; grandchildren, Will (KaSondra) Vaughn, Matt (Julianna) Vaughn, Ashton (Bradley) McCann, Dayton Hendrix (Elissa Roberson), Jamie Fry, Jessica Fry, Ashley Tidwell, Amy Tidwell, Autumn Burns; great grandchildren, Colt Vaughn, Macie Hancock, Gracie Hancock, Lynnie Kate McCann, Ellie Jane McCann, Jackson Vaughn. In addition, Don is survived by a sister, Linda Miller, Michigan. Jeannie is survived by a brother, Dick (Judy) Batts, Eagleville, TN; sisters-in-law, Bobbie Batts, Murfreesboro, TN, Brenda Batts, Nolensville, TN.  They are also survived by their beloved Dachshund, Rudy.

Due to the present Health Crisis, there will be no public visitation or funeral services at this time. Private family graveside services will be held with memorial services for all friends and family to be scheduled at a later date.
