Doris Jean Mills

Mrs. Doris Jean Norwood Mills, age 88, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020 in Lewisburg.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Chatman officiating. Burial will follow in Old Orchard Cemetery in Petersburg. Family members will visit with friends on Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 12:30 until the time of services.

Born on August 2, 1932 in Harris, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Charles LaVan and Myrtle Noah Norwood. Mrs. Mills was a graduate of Morgan School in Petersburg and retired from Cosmolab after 20 years of service. She will be remembered as a loving mother and nanny.

Jean is survived by three sons, Jerry Manley, Mike (Connie) Mills, and Terry (Sam) Mills, all of Lewisburg, TN, two daughters, Vicki (Darrell) Horton, Smyrna, TN, and Kathi (Steve) Calahan, Lewisburg, TN; eight grandchildren, Wendy (George) Yurcic, Steven Reed, John (Mary) Manley, Mary Jane (James) Martin, Terry Mills, II, Cecil (Carolyn) Mills, Kevin (Sara) Calahan, Stephanie (Kevin) Giles, Kenzie Greenway; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Joyce Bennett, Estes Park, CO. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Steven Reed, Cecil Mills, Kevin Calahan, Terry Mills, II, George Yurcic and Kevin Giles.

Face masks are requested to be worn at visitation and funeral services.
