Mrs. Eveie Purdom, age 78, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in Franklin, Tennessee.

Mrs. Purdom was born in the Cross Keys Community of Williamson County and was the daughter of the late Robert A and Ella Kate Reed Flippen. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Cathey Purdom, who died in 2018, and brothers, Jackie Flippen, Jimmy Flippen and Bobby Flippen.

Eveie was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, where she was a member of the Single Sisters ladies group and the Adult 4 Sunday School Class. She retired, after many years of service, from the cafeteria staff at Forrest High School in Chapel Hill and was a member of the “Lunch Bunch”.

Mrs. Purdom is survived by her children, Marty R. (Jessica) Purdom, Murfreesboro, TN, Kasey (Dwayne) Dowers, Chapel Hill, TN; brother, Jerry (Claudia) Flippen, College Grove, TN; grandchildren, Baylee Drue Dowers, Daelyn Dean Dowers, Isaiah Taylor Vang; and her “Whiney Weiner Dog” Max.

Due to the present Health Crisis, there will be no public visitation or funeral services. Private family graveside services will be held, with burial to follow, at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.

Marty Purdom, Dwayne Dowers, Robbie Hargrove, Larry Curtis, Kevin Pratt, Bill Preston, Tommy Howell, and Mathew Morton will serve as active pallbearers. “The Lunch Bunch” will serve as honorary pallbearers.

As a tribute to Eveie, her children encourage everyone to please take the Covid vaccination.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
