Evie Bryant

Mrs. Evie Pearl Leathers Bryant, age 94, of the Longview Community of Bedford Co., died Saturday, October 2, 2021. Born in Rutherford Co., Mrs. Bryant was a daughter of the late Willie Newton Leathers and Anner Dyer Leathers. She was a homemaker and attended the New Zion Church of Christ. Mrs. Bryant enjoyed attending the DAV meetings and visiting at the Chapel Hill Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman “Duke” Bryant. Also preceding her in death was a granddaughter, Tina Key, a grandson, Hank Bryant and several sisters and brothers.

Survived by her 2 daughters, Bettye Cates of Shelbyville, TN and Linda (Kenneth) Smith of the Longview Community; a son, Willie (Debbie) Bryant of the Rover Community; a brother, Ronnie (Eva) Leathers of Rockvale, TN; 6 grandchildren, Kimberly Hicks, Donnie Smith, Keith Smith, Michelle Pheneger, David Bryant and Clint Bryant; 14 Great-grandchildren and 8 Great-great grandchildren.

No visitation is scheduled, however, there will be a Graveside Service, at 3pm, Monday, October 4, 2021 at Cothran Cemetery in the Rover Community. Pallbearers will be David Bryant, Clint Bryant, Keith Smith, Donnie Smith, Jeff Pheneger and Jeff Hicks.
