Howard Ford

College Grove, TN

Mr. Howard Ford, age 75, a lifelong resident of College Grove, TN, died Monday, April 19, 2021 at his residence.  He was a native of Williamson County, TN and was a son of the late Robert Samuel Ford and Sennie Elizabeth Johnson Ford.  Howard was a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service and owner of Harpeth River Kennels.  He served our country in the United States Army and was a graduate of the Class of 1964 from College Grove High School where he was involved in the Future Farmers of America.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dog training, and music.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Jamie Ford.

Mr. Ford is survived by his brothers, Harold (Beth) Ford of College Grove, TN, John Ford of College Grove, TN; niece, Melissa Holt Winters; nephews, Matt (Cindy) Ford, Jimbo Ford, Justin (Haley) Ford, Michael (Kim) Ford, and Clayton Holt.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 PM on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the College Grove Cemetery with Travis Williams officiating.  Interment will follow in the College Grove Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jacob Edmonson, Linton Romine, Lee Floyd, Jim Barnes, William Underwood, Sam Livers, and Tyler Wyatt.  Honorary pallbearers will be Kerry Rooks, Garvin Ford, Gary Hoopman, Jason Giles, Matthew Giles, Tony Smotherman, Rick McDonald, Talley Floyd, Richard McKinney, Bobby Woodard, all his fellow coon hunters across the country, and the staff at Vanderbilt Heart .
