Mr. James Marshall Helton, age 77, of the Caney Spring Community of Marshall County, died Thursday, August 26, 2021 in Lewisburg, Tennessee. Mr. Helton was born in Terrell, Texas and was a son of the late Mary Louise Roberts Helton and James Marshall Helton, Sr.
Mr. Helton was a veteran of the United States Air Force and continued serving his Country for many years as a member of the Army National Guard. James was a member of Caney Spring United Methodist Church. He retired after 30 years of service from Walker Die Casting of Lewisburg, TN.
Mr. Helton is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol Connelly Helton, Caney Spring, TN; daughter, Michele (Danny) O’Neal, Spring Hill, TN; sister, Janey (Lonnie) Wells, Louisville, KY; brother, John Neal (Judy) Helton, Mt. Pleasant, TN; grandchildren, Bethany Sims (Tyler Gibson), SPC Adam Herman, Arri Anderson (Cristian James), Skyler O’Neal, Lily O’Neal; great grandson, Ezra Lyle; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Family members will receive friends on Monday, August 30, 2021 from 11:00 am until 1:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 30, 2021 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Holton officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
Ron Anderson, Jon Cheek, Levi Mathews, Jason Carpenter, Danny O’Neal, Tyler Gibson, Adam Herman and Skyler O’Neal will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Anderson, Tony Clark and members of the Berlin Charge Choir.
