James Kenneth Lamb

December 18, 1957 — July 5, 2020

Unionville, TN

Mr. James Kenneth Lamb, age 62, of Unionville, TN went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, July 5, 2020.  He was born in Rutherford County, TN to the late Ernest Gilbert and Elizabeth Jane Jacobs Lamb.  Mr. Lamb was a member of the Rover Baptist Church and a graduate of Community High School.  He was known by many as “Mr. Kenneth” where he was a long time employee of Bedford County Board of Education at Community Elementary School.  He was dedicated to his job, from the custodial daily routine on the kindergarten through second grade wing, to the middle school dance clean up, and on to the late night high school basketball games where he and his grandson, A.J. spent many nights making memories cleaning together.  He enjoyed spending time with his coworkers as they became a big part of his family.  He was looking forward to retirement along side his best bud, Mr. Frank Locke, in the coming year.  Kenneth was a family man.  He loved cooking and enjoyed spending time with his brothers and sisters while attending family gatherings and playing BINGO!  He had just held his 13th Annual 4th of July event where most of the family was able to attend.  He put his heart and soul into decorating and maintaining his yard.  Holidays were always special to him, especially Christmas Eve when all 5 grandchildren would come over and spend the whole day baking cookies for Santa.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, June Pearcy, and Nannie Hill, his brothers, Billy “Dick” Lamb, Clarence “Bull” Lamb, and Thomas “Mitchie” Lamb.

Mr. Lamb is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Bell Smotherman Lamb of Unionville, TN; children, Daniel Lamb of Unionville, TN, Austin (Jennifer) Lamb of Halls Mill Community; 5 grandchildren, A.J. Lamb, Sara Lamb, Keign Lamb, Bryson Lamb, and Jaxson Lamb; sisters, Jane Smith of the Longview Community, Dorothy (Larry) Wilhoite of the Rover Community, Peggy (David) Luna of Unionville, TN, Rose Mary (Steve) Adgent of Rover Community, Connie Lamb of Longview Community; brother, Clifford (Diana) Lamb of Rover Community; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who dearly love their Uncle Kenneth just as much as he loved each of them.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at Lawrence Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be conducted from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 with Rev. Ronnie Grooms officiating.  Interment will follow in Pressgrove Cemetery in Unionville, TN.

A.J. Lamb, Paul Smith, Dewayne “Bubba Duck” Holder, Jason Luna, Jarrod Luna, and Cody Adgent will serve as Active pallbearers.  Keign Lamb and Frank Locke will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the First Responders, Paramedics, Police, and 911 dispatchers for all their hard work and effort for Kenneth early Sunday morning.  He will surely be missed but never forgotten.
