Jimmie H. Hickman

Mr. Jimmie H. Hickman, age 85, of Franklin, TN, formerly of Chapel Hill, TN, died on Saturday, October 9, 2021 in Franklin, TN.  He was born in Bedford County, TN and was a son of the late Jimmie D. and Edna Mae Jones Hickman.  Jimmie was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  He was a graduate of Forrest High School Class of 1954.  Jimmie was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons Hiram Lodge#7 in Franklin, TN, a Shriner with the Al Menah Temple, and a member of the Scottish Rites.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ella Mae Whitehead Hickman in 2013, and two sisters, Janice Hickman Walls and Katie Hickman Hargrove.

He dearly loved his family by whom he was affectionately known as “Jim Jim”.  He loved rabbit hunting, dove hunting, fishing, gardening, and was an avid fan of the UT Vols.

Mr. Hickman is survived by his loving daughter, Rennae Hickman (Danny) Chapman of Franklin, TN; 3 grandchildren, Seth (Kelly) Chapman of Franklin, TN, Cameron Chapman of Elizabethton, TN, and Lori Lynn Chapman of Brooklyn, NY; 5 great grandchildren, Grace, Charlotte, Norah, Caroline, and Luke Chapman; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home with  Masonic Rites being conducted at 6 PM.  The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 10 AM from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Danny Hargrove, Phil Sharp, and Jamie Pratt officiating.  Interment will follow in the Reed-Walker Cemetery near Chapel Hill, TN.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.  Members of the Masonic Lodge will serve as honorary pallbearers.
