John Marquiss

Mr. John David Marquiss, age 79, of Chapel Hill, TN, died Wednesday, June 30, 2021 in Columbia, TN. Born in Monticello, IL, John was a son of the late Paul Allen and Dorothy Marie Arnold Marquiss. In his 25 years of living in Tennessee, John worked as a heavy equipment operator and general laborer in construction and was a member of the Elks Lodge. His mottos in life were to “live life to the fullest” and to “laugh and have fun.” In addition to his parents, Mr. Marquiss is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Alice Marquiss.

John is survived by his daughters; Dawn (Kyle) White of Broken Arrow, OK, Carie (Jim) Mathias of Illinois City, IL, Neely (Kevin) Bullington of Decatur, IL; sisters, Martha (Don) Floyd of Decatur, IL, Barbara Kuzma-Marquiss of Los Angeles, CA, Linda Marquiss of Petersburg, TN, as well as, several nieces and nephews.

Per Mr. Marquiss’ wishes, he will be cremated and no services are scheduled at this time.
