Myrtis C. Walls

Mrs. Myrtis C. Walls, age 85, of the Caney Spring Community in Marshall County, TN, died on Friday, May 7, 2021 in Columbia, TN.  She was born in Diana, TN and was a daughter of the late Clarence Leonard Crabtree and Alvia Ridner Crabtree. She was a graduate of Marshall County High School and was the Class Valedictorian.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert William Walls in 1988.

Mrs. Myrtis was a member of the Chapel Hill Church of Christ where she served as the church secretary for many years.  She loved reading her Bible, teaching Bible class to children, teaching World Bible School students, and participating in a Mission Trip to South Africa in 1989.

She dearly loved her family by whom she was affectionately known as “Granny” and was a great seamstress.  She had a great passion for flowers especially her beautiful iris.

Mrs. Myrtis is survived by her loving son and daughter in law, Jeffrey Benton (Kim) Walls of Chapel Hill, TN; grandchildren, Courtney Leigh Walls (Josh) Haywood of Bell Buckle, TN, Kaitlyn Walls (Camden) McClure of Sparta, TN; great grandchildren, Noah Steven Haywood and Alana Grace Haywood; brother, Donald Eugene (Pam) Crabtree of Lewisburg, TN; sister, Nancy Carolyn Bumgardner of Shelbyville, TN.

Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, May 9, 2021 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 11 AM from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Stan Butt, Jr. officiating.  Interment will follow in the Allen Cemetery in the Caney Spring Community.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
