Mr. Roy L. “Ted” Anderson, age 87, of Chapel Hill, TN, died on Friday, July 29, 2022 in Lewisburg, TN. He was born in Northcutt Cove, Grundy County, TN and was a son of the late Elbert Nelson Anderson and Alice Elizabeth Baker Anderson. Mr. Anderson was a retired industrial engineer, having worked for CPS, Huyck Formex, and Williamson Medical Center. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Chapel Hill Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Sam Otey Anderson and Elbert Nelson Anderson, Jr.
Mr. Roy enjoyed bird watching and nature, especially hiking and camping. He loved old time music and picked the banjo. He was an avid Alabama fan and cheered “Roll Tide”. Most of all he loved his family.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mrs. Charlotte Ruth King Anderson of Chapel Hill, TN; children, Debra Anderson Sanders of Baton Rouge, LA, Jeannette Anderson Scott of Columbia, TN, Robert Lewis Anderson of Chapel Hill, TN, Ruth Anderson of Chapel Hill, TN; 7 grandchildren, Tonya Elizabeth Scott Rubio, Tabitha Nicole Eason Romero, Heather Lynn Eason Liposky, Lindsey Morgan Eason All, Carolyn Ruth Alderson, Charlotte Clementine Alderson, Thomas Roy Alderson, 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Pauline Goddard of Sparta, TN, Carolyn Anderson Alderson of Centerville, TN, Elizabeth Ann Anderson Rhea of Grandbury, TX; brothers, Edward Wallace Anderson of Franklin, TN and William Baker Anderson of McMinnville, TN.
Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 4 PM until 7 PM at the Chapel Hill Church of Christ. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 PM on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at the Chapel Hill Church of Christ, 4483 Nashville Hwy., Chapel Hill, TN 37034 with Bro. Isaac Bourne and Lt Col Mavis Baldwin, Chaplain USAF (Ret) officiating. Burial will be later in the Northcutt Cove Cemetery in the Northcutt Cove Community in Grundy County, TN.
