White House, Tennessee

Mr. Thomas Malcolm “Red” Hazelwood, Jr., age 62, of White House, Tennessee, died Tuesday, June 23, 2020 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Mr. Hazelwood was born in Franklin, Tennessee and was a retired heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. He loved music and played many different musical instruments and especially loved playing the banjo which he played for 30 years as a member of the Williamson County Bluegrass band. He also was an avid fan and loved Alabama football.

Mr. Hazelwood is survived by his wife of 21 years, Sonja Grider Hazelwood, White House, TN; children, Timothy Hazelwood and Joshua Hazelwood, both of the Flat Creek Community; step-children, Joshua (Patricia) Smith, Westmoreland, TN, Savannah (Tony) Johnson, LaFayette, TN; mother, Dora “Dodie” Hazelwood, Flat Creek Community; sister, Sharlene Hazelwood, Flat Creek Community; brother, Doug Hazelwood, Flat Creek Community; and was affectionately known as “PawPaw” to his grandchildren.

Mr. Hazelwood was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Malcolm Hazelwood, Sr., who died in April of 2020.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 26, 2020 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Family members will also receive friends on Saturday, June 27, 2020 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. with funeral services being conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Jody Reed officiating.
