Mr. William Herman “Billy” Smithson, Jr., age 77, of Murfreesboro, TN, formerly of Chapel Hill, TN died Wednesday, May 13, 2020. A native of Sullivan Co., TN, Mr. Smithson grew up in the Rudderville community of Williamson Co. and was a graduate of College Grove High School. Mr. Smithson was the son of the late William Herman Smithson, Sr. and Pauline Victoria Chunn Smithson. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. Mr. Smithson was an Electrical Engineer and was retired from Nashville Electric Service. He was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lenelle Marable Smithson, who died in 2018.

Survived by a son, William Kyle Smithson of  Murfreesboro,TN; a sister, Nell Frances Human of Hermitage, TN; 3 nieces, Lisa Human McCormack of Mt. Juliet, TN; Cynthia Human of Old Hickory, TN; Leann Human Hilliard of Knoxville, TN.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be a private visitation for the immediate family. There will be a private graveside service at 1pm, Friday, May 15, 2020, at Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro. Family members certainly want you to consider your own health.
